Orange County has received clearance from the state to move into late Stage 2 of Gov. Gavin Newsom's reopening plan.

Starting Saturday, Orange County can reopen restaurants for in-person dining and shopping malls with new physical distancing measures in place. As of Saturday afternoon, 46 of California's 58 counties have received permission to move into late Stage 2. Rural counties were the first to receive clearance, but a number of larger counties such as San Diego, Sacramento and Orange have also been given a green light to move deeper into Stage 2 in recent days.
